This quilt binding is made of a blend of bamboo and cotton fibers. This chambray an incredibly soft hand due to the blend of cotton and rayon made of bamboo. The fabric is woven with a black fiber in one direction and a light blue fiber in the other creating the classic chambray fabric texture. The fabric is by Fableism.
This fabric is cut on the crosswise grain, NOT on the bias, but the strips are joined together on the bias to reduce bulk when attaching the binding to your quilt.
I washed a one-yard piece of fabric in delicate, and dried in the dryer on low to check the shrinkage. Amazinginly, there was NO SHRINKAGE. The fabric didn't get thicker, either. It makes a lovely, soft binding for all your projects. Be sure to check out the double fold bias tape, too!
